Q: How many families participate in activities at the fairgrounds? How many attendees will see the advertisement for the business or corporation?
A: Literally thousands of people attend activities held at the Fairgrounds. Between 2013 and 2019 there were 2,945 events held. Of those events, 35% were related to 4-H activities, 25% community activities, 17% business related, I 0% Purdue Extension programs, 9% social events, and 4% government activities. These events include such activities as craft shows, auctions, workshops, youth police camp, weddings, graduation parties, family reunions, and many more.

Q: If an in-kind donation is preferred, what liability will these businesses or families have?
A: Businesses and individuals who provide in-kind donations, will not incur any liability. All liability will be covered through 4-H Inc.

Q: What happens if the project isn’t completed on time?
A: The Future Needs Committee will work with the construction company to ensure that the time line of the project does not interfere with the July Fair. Other events held in the Best Way Center will be moved off site.

Q: What is the timeline of the project?
A: The hope is to start construction in late 2023 or early 2024 with work to be completed by the 2024 4-H Fair. If due to not raising enough funds, or issues with securing a contractor, the completion date will be moved to the 2025 4-H Fair.

Q: Who is overseeing the project?
A: The 4-H Inc. Board will oversee the project, soliciting volunteer support as needed from area contractors.

Q: How much has been raised to date and from whom?
A: Approximately 1 million of the 2.2 million need has been raised to date from:

Private Donations: $150,000
READI Grant: $250,000
